Drivers should expect temporary daytime traffic delays on Mahoney Road and Black Road as the City of Santa Maria begins a new paving project.
Construction for the project will begin on August 24th and conclude on October 23, 2026, with work occurring Monday through Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
The paving will include rehabilitation of portions of Mahoney Road between Tanglewood Community limit and Betteravia Road, and Black Road between Betteravia Road and the southerly Windset Farms driveway.
Motorists in Santa Maria should plan for additional travel time and are encouraged to use alternate routes during construction hours.
Residences, businesses, agricultural operations, and emergency services will be accessible; however, lane closures and traffic control should be expected during the project.
