A local WWII veteran celebrated his 101st birthday on Friday. Alvin Hicks spends his time at the Oceano Elks Club every night. Hicks says he first flew a fighter plane at just 19 years old.
He then went on to serve in the police force in Fresno and retired there. Hicks says his stays active, eats well, and socializes to keep a healthy life.
