A brush fire broke out at around 9 a.m. Saturday morning, south of Lake Nacimiento.
According to CAL FIRE SLO, the fire has burned approximately five acres near High Meadow Way and Running Deer Road.
Fire officials say the heavy brush and steep terrain are posing challenges for firefighters as they work to contain the fire.
The public is asked to avoid the area while crews are on scene.
