Fire Captain retires after 26 years with Santa Barbara County Fire Department

The Santa Barbara County Fire Department has announced Captain Scott Safechuck is retiring after 35 years in fire and emergency services.

According to the fire department’s Instagram post Safechuck has spent 26 years with the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.

In his final years with the department he has served as Public Information Officer.

The fire department says Safechuck retires with a career built on courage, compassion and service to the community.
